Frequently asked questions.

What should someone know about working with me?

I use a collaborative approach and customized treatment for each client. Commitment is an important part of therapy. I recommend one session per week and a minimum of 12 sessions. The first two sessions are dedicated to an assessment which includes learning the client’s situation and presenting issues as well as their psychosocial and cultural background. By exploring multigenerational family patterns we can get to the root of the problem by helping patients to enhance their insight. Followed up by Cognitive Behavioral techniques this intervention finally allows the breakdown of negative behavioral patterns preventing the patients from achieving a balanced life.

How can therapy help me?

Therapy can provide support to deal with anxiety, depression, family issues, communication problems, dealing with stress at work or school, and many other issues. It can be a tremendous asset in advancing personal growth especially if you are feeling stuck or having a transitional moment such as changing jobs, schools, getting married, or divorced. Therapy can help you improve your interpersonal relationships, and boost your self-esteem and confidence. A therapist can help you to see your situation from a different angle that will help you to find better solutions.

How does insurance work?

To determine if you have mental health coverage, you need to call your insurance. It would be helpful to ask your insurance the following questions:

  • What are my mental health benefits?

  • What is the coverage amount per therapy session?

  • What is my co-pay per session?

  • Do I have a deductible? How much is it per year?

  • How many therapy sessions does my plan cover?

  • How much does my insurance pay for an out-of-network provider?

  • Is approval required from my primary care physician?

  • If you have one of the plans listed above, I can help you to find out what your benefits exactly are and if I am in-network with your particular variation of the insurance plan. There are many different plans under the same umbrella. For example, I am in-network with some of Beacon's plans but not with all of them.

  • Don’t feel like going through the hassle of finding it out on your own?! I understand. It is too much stress to add to your problems. You can request my services on the below-listed platforms and they will do all the work for you to calculate exactly how much your insurance is going to pay and what your deductible or copay is, if any.

  • Maybe you don’t feel like using your insurance at all. Some people want more privacy. No problem. Call me and we will make a private arrangement. We can discuss the fees depending on your situation and the frequency of sessions that are required.

  • What if I am out of network with your insurance but you still want to use it? If you have out-of-network benefits, you can get reimbursed for the sessions. A super-bill is provided for your insurance submission by request.
